The successful treatment of addiction depends on a philosophy of treatment that is based on a holistic view of the individual as capable of self-correction. At EDGEWOOD we understand that addiction is an illness; but it is an illness that is predictable and treatable.

We also recognize that families are an integral source of support for patients in treatment. At EDGEWOOD we recognize that all members of the family are affected by the addiction of their loved one and we encourage the involvement of family members throughout the treatment process.

Inpatient Program

EDGEWOOD's Inpatient Program is intense - seven days a week from 12-14 hours a day. It consists of group therapy, lectures, individual counselling, psychological evaluations, peer and self-assessments, as well as conferences with family and referral sources. Fundamentals of the 12 Steps are incorporated throughout our program.
We utilize a biopsychosocial model that considers the patient, their family and their social system when treating addictions. Our multi-disciplinary treatment team addresses patients' needs from detoxification to continuing care, including treatment for dual disorders.
Unique to EDGEWOOD, the length of stay is determined solely by the individual's progress. Treatment is individualized to meet our patients' specific needs giving them the best chance of recovery.

The objectives of the treatment process at EDGEWOOD are abstinence from mood-altering behaviours or chemicals and an improved lifestyle.

Extended Care Program

Designed for those who have completed Inpatient treatment, WOODSIDE – EDGEWOOD’s Extended Care Program – helps patients establish a strong foundation of recovery based on implementing newly learned recovery tools of self-responsibility and accountability in their lives. Extended Care provides an opportunity for patients to integrate their recovery with family, community, career and education on a practical, day-to-day basis.

Vancouver Addiction Services

Several professional counselling and coaching services and programs are now available through EDGEWOOD's Vancouver Addiction Services including Pre-Care, After-Care and Ongoing individual and family counselling services.

Referral Process:

Last Door welcome inquires via phone or email regarding suitability and availability of services, followed by completion of LDRS Referral Package. As part of the screening/intake process Last Door can schedule up to a full day of program viewing for applicants and their referral agents. We welcome clients from across Canada, the United States and around the World.
