Workshop Description

Though the Solution Focused Approach has been around for several decades, it remains both mysterious and hard for professionals to implement with their clients. There are several reasons for this but the primary reason for this is related to the simplicity of this approach. Often times we confuse “simple” with “easy” and think that asking clients Solution Focused questions will seamlessly lead towards change. In order to master this approach you have to know that simple does not mean easy and develop the skill of asking the kinds of questions that lead towards positive change. Once this is done then you’ll be able to use this approach to help clients regardless of the issue that client presents with. The strength of this approach is that once you master the language of this approach you will be able to shift the conversation from the client’s problem towards the desired changes the client is looking to achieve and develop steps to achieve those changes. This lecture will demonstrate how to do just that and be focused on the key skills that professionals need to develop in order to have the biggest impact on their clients lives.
