A Holistic Approach to Treating Trauma – Hennessey MacDonald Lecture Theatre
Join us for an immersive, transformative 5-day workshop in the heart of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, where breathtaking landscapes meet cutting-edge therapeutic practice. This workshop is your opportunity to deepen your understanding of trauma, attachment, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) while learning from Dr. Eboni Webb, PsyD, a leading expert in DBT and trauma-informed care. Whether you’re a mental health professional seeking advanced skills or someone passionate about understanding the dynamics of trauma and attachment, this course offers transformative learning in a peaceful and inspiring setting. Don’t miss your chance to expand your professional toolkit while enjoying the natural beauty and hospitality of Prince Edward Island.
This comprehensive course offers an in-depth understanding of how trauma affects the developing brain, the dynamics of attachment formation, and how trauma disrupts or distorts these processes. Through the lens of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we will examine how DBT’s key concepts, such as ‘Mindfulness,’ ‘Distress Tolerance,’ ‘Emotion Regulation,’ and ‘Interpersonal Effectiveness,’ can be used to address attachment-related issues and complex trauma. These DBT skills are essential tools for helping clients develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve their relationships with themselves and others.
You will learn how DBT can effectively treat key DSM-V disorders through a trauma-informed perspective. Special emphasis will be placed on how DBT’s skills training and therapeutic strategies help clients regulate emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relational dynamics. The course will incorporate case studies and real-world examples, demonstrating how DBT can be integrated into clinical practice to treat complex trauma and attachment disorders.
By the end of this course, you will have advanced skills and knowledge to effectively apply DBT techniques to support clients of all ages, helping them heal from trauma and attachment wounds, and ultimately achieve greater emotional stability and healthier adult functioning. Charlottetown and Dr. Eboni Webb’s DBT workshop offer you the perfect blend of professional development and personal rejuvenation.
